This reunion has reminded us that what we have is so much bigger than a gathering. It is a legacy built through generations of love, sacrifice, resilience, faith, wisdom, and survival. Being together has shown us just how much history, talent, creativity, strength, and untold stories live within this family. We do not want these connections, memories, and relationships to exist only every few years during a reunion weekend. We want to build something lasting, something our children, grandchildren, and future generations can continue to grow, protect, and be proud of.
As we move forward, we will begin creating family legacy initiatives focused on preserving our history, documenting our family tree, honoring our ancestors, supporting our elders, involving our youth, strengthening communication between branches, and identifying the many gifts, businesses, skills, and talents that already exist within our family. We also want to create opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, support, and deeper connection so that our family remains connected not only by blood, but by purpose.
This is about more than planning reunions or events. It is about protecting our legacy, preserving our stories before they are lost, honoring those who came before us, and building stronger foundations for the generations still to come. We believe our greatest resource is each other, and if we work together intentionally, we can create something our children and grandchildren will still feel connected to long after we are gone.
This reunion is not just a celebration of where we come from. It is the beginning of what we choose to build together moving forward.
